TERMS AND CONDITIONS

EDGARS CLUB TERMS & CONDITIONS (060224a):

  1. Edgars Club is administered by Crave Rewards on behalf of Retailability (Pty) Ltd.
  2. Joining via Edgars account:
    • Members authorise RCS on behalf of Edgars Club to debit their account with the agreed-upon amount.
    • The initial membership fee will be debited to the following month's Edgars account.
    • Membership fees will continue to be debited every month thereafter.
    • To opt out before being debited, email customercare@edgarsclub.co.za before close of business on the final working day of the month in which the application was processed.
    • Benefits may not be charged to an Edgars account.
  3. Joining via debit order:
    • Members authorise Retailability on behalf of Edgars Club to debit their account with the agreed-upon amount.
    • Debits will reflect with EDGARSCLUB as prefix.
    • Membership fee will be deducted on the selected debit order date of each month for the duration of the contract with the Club membership number as payment reference. If the application date equals the selected payment date, the initial membership fee will be deducted on the chosen payment date of the next month from the bank account as chosen by the Edgars Club member when completing their e-mandate.
    • If the collection date of the instruction falls on a non-processing day (weekend or public holiday), the payment instruction will be debited on the business day directly prior to or following the non-processing day.
    • To opt out before being debited, email customercare@edgarsclub.co.za before close of business on the final working day of the month in which the application was processed.
  4. Joining via Payfast:
    • Members authorise Payfast on behalf of Edgars Club to debit their account with the agreed-upon amount.
    • Debits will reflect with PAYFAST*Edgars as prefix.
    • The initial membership fee will be debited on the first of the following month via the selected payment channel.
    • If the collection date of the instruction falls on a non-processing day (weekend or public holiday), the payment instruction may be debited on the business day directly prior to or following the non-processing day.
    • To opt out before being debited, email customercare@edgarsclub.co.za before close of business on the final working day of the month in which the application was processed.
  5. Joining via up-front payment:
    • Members will pay the selected up-front amount and will be subscribed for the corresponding number of calendar months, commencing the month after payment is received.
    • Thereafter, members will be required to renew their membership on or before the last day of the last month of the subscription period in order for the membership to remain active, and for benefits to continue to be accessible.
    • Should the membership not be renewed, the membership will be cancelled.
  6. Joining via a 3rd party:
    • a. In the event of a 3rd party membership fee default, upon which Edgars Club eligibility is reliant upon, the member will forfeit access to their Edgars Club benefits until such time as the membership fee is successfully collected. Edgars Club will not be liable for a refund for any loss due to benefits being inaccessible during any period of default.
  7. Membership upgrades - provided a membership tier upgrade is requested before close of business on the last working day of the month, the upgrade will be effective from the 1st of the following month, whereupon the membership fee will be adjusted to the applicable, prevailing rate. Should the upgrade request be made after this time, it will be effective from the month thereafter.
    Up-front subscribers - Please purchase a new up-front membership in the final month of the existing subscription period. The upgrade will be effective after the current subscription period ends.
  8. Membership downgrades - provided a membership tier downgrade is requested before close of business on the last working day of the month, the downgrade will be effective from the 1st of the following month, whereupon the membership fee will be adjusted to the applicable, prevailing rate. Should the downgrade request be made after this time, it will be effective from the month thereafter. Downgrades may only be requested via Edgars Club Customer Care once every 90 days.
    Up-front subscribers - Please purchase a new up-front membership in the final month of the existing subscription period. The downgrade will be effective after the current subscription period ends.
  9. Resignation - to resign, Edgars Club must be contacted either telephonically or in writing via email prior to close of business on the final working day of the month. Cancellation will be effective from the 1st of the month following the month that notice is given. By way of example:
    • Member resigns on November 26 - cancellation will be effective from 1 December.
      Up-front subscribers: membership continues until the subscription term is completed. To resign prior to this, Edgars Club must be contacted either telephonically or in writing via email prior to close of business on the final working day of the month. Cancellation will be effective from the 1st of the month following the month that notice is given. By way of example:
    • Member resigns on November 26 - cancellation will be effective from 1 December. A refund for the remaining fees will be calculated pro-rata and any refund due will be made within 10 working days. For upfront subscribers, a handling fee, equivalent to one month's membership fees at the prevailing rate, will apply upon cancellation.
      Upon cancellation, access to all Edgars Club benefits will cease.
  10. In the event of an Edgars Club membership fee default, the member will forfeit access to their Edgars Club benefits until such time as the membership fee is successfully collected, unless specified in benefit specific clauses. Edgars Club will not be liable for a refund for any loss due to benefits being inaccessible during any period of default.
  11. Members may not re-join Edgars Club for a period of 180 days subsequent to cancellation. Acceptance of new applications will be at the discretion of Edgars Club.
  12. Benefits will take up to 5 days to activate, unless otherwise specified. A welcome SMS or email containing the Edgars Club membership number will be sent upon activation.
  13. Benefits may be utilised by the main member only, unless otherwise specified. Membership is not transferable. The main member minimum age is 18 years old.
  14. Benefit partners reserve the right to change or withdraw benefits and discounts at any time. Members will have no claim against Edgars Club in this event.
  15. Edgars Club benefit partners reserve the right to refuse benefits and discounts if membership is invalid.
  16. Edgars Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate a membership if there is any misconduct, wrongdoing or fraudulent use suspected or confirmed. Edgars Club will not be liable for any refunds whatsoever in the case of any suspension or termination.
  17. New benefit partners may be added to the Edgars Club programme, in which event members will be advised via the website, email or SMS, and social media.
  18. Membership fees will be adjusted annually.
  19. An active Edgars Club membership is required for the full period of subscription to any benefit offers whereby a secondary membership subscription is required. These secondary membership fees will revert to full price should Edgars Club membership be deactivated for whatever reason. Up-front subscribers - please ensure that your membership is renewed prior to your current term lapsing in order to continue being eligible for any discounted rate/s.
  20. Edgars Club processes and terms & conditions may be amended from time-to-time.
  21. Certain benefits rely on the Edgars Club member's ID number and cellphone number being current and active. It is the responsibility of the member to advise Edgars Club telephonically or in writing of any changes to personal details. Edgars Club will not be held liable for any loss due to missing/incorrect/outdated personal details.

  23. Failure to enforce any processes or terms & conditions in any instance will not imply the future lack of enforcement thereof.
  24. Retailability has assumed the management and running of Edgars Club and takes responsibility for all obligations and liabilities effective from 1 October 2020.
